The Basics: Rationalism
Economic theory should be approached from a perspective of rationalism. A society may choose to seek moral or social objectives, and economic rationalism should not stand in the way of that. Those social and moral policies should, however, be added to a rational foundation. If the foundation is not sound, even the most worthy and well-formed social policy would be liable to dysfunction.
